Taking place the first Thursday in December, Monument Lighting is a joyous event culminating with a spectacular fireworks display. Guests enjoy musical performances on stage, while having a tasty bite of food from a holiday vendor village. The Washington Monument is decked out with thousands of LED lights strings which are illuminated as the fireworks begin. It’s an exciting time to be in Mount Vernon Place!

Monument Lighting assists the Conservancy in raising awareness about what the organization does every day for the city by maintaining, restoring, and revitalizing Mount Vernon Place.
It is our tradition to support the best of Baltimore by featuring local vendors who serve up Baltimore's delicious foods! Both food trucks and tent setups may apply. Please check back as the season approaches for more information on vendor applications.
